In this piece, I layer the scenes I captured in the present-day city with archival footage from the documentary—images of camps, siege, violence, and survival. The intention is not to create a dramatic visual clash, but to invite the viewer to sense an echo of history within this temporal dislocation. The shadows of war never truly vanish, and our everyday lives are always entwined with what came before.
I have always felt that history is not a straight line, but more like a circling loop. Many events we consider “in the past” continue to replay themselves in different forms in the present. For this reason, I hope viewers do not approach these images by thinking of “Bosnia” as a distant, abstract Eastern European country and name, but instead bring their own lived experiences and the realities of our current era into the viewing, reflecting on the shared experience woven between the present and the future.

我始终觉得,历史不是一条线,而更像是一个循环的圆。许多事情看似发生在“过去”,却以另一种方式在当下不断重演。因此,我希望观众不要以“波黑”作为一个遥远、抽象的东欧地理名词去观看这些影像,而是带着自己的生活经验、我们所处的时代现实,去思考现在与未来交织成的共同命运。
